Fabrication Techniques

Fabrication of a single part or entire assembly on a skid is nothing new at the Palmer Companies. Whether it's one off design or the replication of hundreds of the same type unit, we have the staff and expertise to get the job done. Our experience in working with exotic metals and material handling gives us a unique ability to create long lasting equipment ideally suited for any need.

Extensive Machining Equipment.

With 18 Lathes, 5 vertical bore mills, multiple horizontal mills, planer mills, press breaks, Surface and O.D. grinders, various CNC Lathes and Mills Palmer has the tools and expertise to get the job done.

• Vertical Bore Mills up to 69" in depth and 84" swing.
• Horizontal Bore Mills.
• Planer Mills up to 76" x 192" x 40"
• Calypso 12 ft. by 8 ft. Water Jet Cutting Machine.

CNC Machining

CNC (Computer Numeric Control) Machining allows Palmer to create highly accurate and complex parts with a level of consistancy that is normally not possible when done by hand. These machines are used on large runs of parts that require high precision or interchangability. The use of these machines allows the operators to run multiple machines without interaction reducing the cost of creation and providing a savings to the customer.

 

Water Jet Cutting.

Our large Water Jet cutter gives us the ability to work with materials that need a clean smooth edge, as well as materials that would be effected by traditional high heat methods of cuting like plasma or mechanical means such as sawing or shearing.

Plasma Arc Cutting.

Our CNC plasma arc cutting table is used on most materials but is especialy useful when cutting metals which form refractory oxides such as stainless steel, aluminium, cast iron and non-ferrous alloys. Using advance nesting techniques allows Palmer to control waste material and reduce consumer costs.
