Coated material

It's easy to deposit high-quality metallurgically fused deposits on your low-cost surfaces when you select Palmer Tool. We use Plasma transferred arc (PTA) coatings as a proven method that provides added durability.

You can deposit soft alloys, medium and high hardness materials, as well as carbide composites on a variety of surfaces to achieve diversity in the mechanical strength, wear and corrosion resistance, and creep.

PTA allows for precise control over feed rates and level of deposit making for extremely accurate depth of coverage.

High velocity oxygen fuel coatings

In the High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) thermal spray process a mixture of gaseous or liquid fuel and oxygen is fed into a combustion chamber,  where they are ignited and combusted in a continuous operation.

As a result, hot gas at high pressure flows through a converging-diverging nozzle and travels through a straight section. The jet velocity will exceed the speed of sound, and a powder feed stock is injected into the gas stream to accelerate the power.

As such, the stream of hot gas and powder is directed towards the surface to be coated. The powder partially melts in the stream and deposits upon the substrate.

Our process uses both kinetic and thermal energy to cause the molten particles to bond with the substrate. This produces a coating with characteristics unachievable otherwise. It has high bond strength for your product.

You'll experience very low surface roughness, which results in a faster finish on your ceramic and metallic layers.
